Laura Himelstein joined Greenwald Doherty in 2008. Ms. Himelstein litigates and counsels management regarding employment-related issues, including sexual harassment, discrimination, classifications and terminations. Ms. Himelstein also is skilled at drafting non-compete, commission and other employment agreements. With her litigation and transactional expertise, Ms. Himelstein provides comprehensive protection for the competitive position of her business clients, including assessment of key assets, institution of restrictive covenants, counseling during terminations, and litigation of non-competition and related issues. Ms. Himelstein also advises companies contemplating or facing challenges to existing contractual obligations. Previously, Ms. Himelstein worked at Deutsche Bank (2007-2008) and Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP, a large national law firm (1999-2007). She represented vendors, customers and strategic partners in deals ranging from employment agreements to intellectual property licenses to international outsourcings to mergers and acquisitions to professional services to website development. Ms. Himelstein also litigated complex commercial cases, including unfair competition and breach of fiduciary duty cases. In addition, she has public sector experience, having negotiated with and regulated cable companies at the New York City Department of Information Technology & Telecommunications (1998-1999) and litigated employment discrimination, special education and civil rights issues at the New York City Law Department (1995-1998).
